27th annual Herb Alpert Award in the Arts winners

Herb Alpert, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer and fierce philanthropist for the arts, will present the 27th annual Herb Alpert Award In the Arts on May 20. The annual awards, founded by Alpert and his Grammy Award-winning vocalist wife Lani Hall, awards 10 artists a $75,000 unrestricted prize and residency at California Institute of the Arts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last year, Backstage SoCal caught up with Alpert <\/a>to discuss the 2020 winning artists and his passion for supporting the artists from all mediums through the Herb Alpert Foundation. The 27th HAAIA awards celebration will be held virtually on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 2 p.m. PST.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When discussing this year’s winners, Alpert stated: “I’ve always loved the artists that travel the road less travelled… those are the artists that touch me.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
